Founded in 1997, America’s Promise Alliance was launched at The Presidents’ Summit for America’s Future. This summit was designed in partnership with the five living Presidents (Clinton, Bush, Carter, Ford and Reagan) and was chaired by the late Ret. General Colin Powell. The summit brought together thousands of leaders from across the country and sought to make strategic investments in young people a top national priority.

Over the last 25 years, America’s Promise Alliance has worked to align and amplify the efforts of individual organizations and institutions around big national goals, achieving outcomes at national scale in civic engagement, education, and workforce development.
